What is life in the countryside like?

Living in a rural setting exposes you to so many wonderful things. – the natural world and special texture of small town life, and the exhilarating experience of open space.

By Susan Orleans

In a country, state or province, there is an area called countryside.

A countryside or non-urban area is an area with low population density, small settlements, and extensive agricultural land. Most of the inhabitants of the small town are familiar with agriculture because agricultural land is abundant. Also, some people keep farm animals like pigs, chickens or cows. The accommodations in the rural area are not huge and full of amenities. In contrast, rural people build their homes according to geography, weather, and society.

Here is my story about my neighborhood.

I grew up and grew up in a small town in Northern Thailand before staying in the big city to finish high school. My rural town is halfway between 2 cities. It is around a big mountain and an abundance of forests. The population density is lower than that of the city, but the population is increasing every year. Here is my story when I was in a non-urban area. Staying in a small town can be difficult for someone, but a small town has its own charm.

Community

My little district is made up of several communities and villages.

Each village has a chief. The official role of the village chief is to promulgate essential news and information from the central district. People like to share things without any cost. When they have products, they will exchange friendly between them. Even we have problems; the village chief will handle and give the aids. The temple is the central place where people do the activities together.

When we have huge events or bereavements, the temple is the gathering place. The central district government will take care of all the villages. If people have an urgent or essential problem, the district government office will help you as much as possible. The district always receives the news from the province and re-promulgates it to the people. My small town seems full of friendship, but there are so many difficult conflicts to resolve.

Companies and Jobs

Agriculture is a crucial industry in my hometown. Most people are farmers, farmers and arborists.

There is a lot of farmland and around with the hills. After the harvest, the farmers will have a party. Some farmers keep their rice in stock, but some sell to rice mills. In my district, there is an agricultural association. If there is a problem, they can contact them directly. There are so many traders, merchants and entrepreneurs in my neighborhood. The market is the center of exchange of goods and products. Once said, if you want to know the economy of the community, you will have to look at the market. People usually spend time in the market, especially in the morning. There are many restaurants and accommodations for travelers. One of the most dominant activities is that of cafes. Cafes are growing very quickly because my hometown is in a mountainous region, so coffee is one of the many featured plants. Government organizations that partner with the police will provide essential aid to the population. They earn government revenue monthly. Government officers or district officers will receive significant issues and report them to the province. They will receive the news and information from the provincial office and promulgated again to the people of the district. Volunteering is one of the many popular activities.

Many people in my community enjoy participating in voluntary charities. For example, when the temple holds a ceremony, people attend the ceremony with all their enthusiasm. After the ceremony is over, they will have a big party.

Traffic and shipping

The majority of people in my small town use motorcycles for their expedition.

The reason why my mauve has a lot of motorcycles because it does not cost arms and legs, the size is small, but it is very comfortable and fast to travel. Teenagers over the age of 15 can earn a motorcycle driver’s license. In contrast, there are a ton of negligent accidents caused by motorcycles every year. Cars are one of the useful vehicles in my hometown. Adults over the age of 18, especially during working time, usually use cars to get to their offices. Some hill tribes use vans to export and import their products to my community. Some bikes are used to go to school for some students and mountain bikers. Bicycles are not useful as the distance is quite far from home to office. Trolley and walking are not uncommon either. For walking, it is quite risky for pedestrians, especially at night.

The traffic is fluid because the density of the car is low. The police also handle traffic morning and evening. So, it’s a lack of heavy traffic, most of the time.

Natural attractions

My hometown is surrounded by mountains. In my riding, there is a national park.

The reason we have a national park is that our district is full of forests and wildlife. Our hometown has many outstanding natural resources. We had a great and famous mine. Unfortunately, twenty years ago, it was a mine collapse and it became a tragedy. The hot spring is one of many important natural attractions. Every year, tons of tourists will visit our hot spring and gain valuable experiences and memories.

Moreover, at the top of the mountain in the national park, people can cycle to see one of the most dominating natural treasures. A sea of fog that occurs in the winter in the morning can let tourists fall in love with my hometown.

Food

My country has a diversity of food. In general, food is divided into two groups. They are Thai food and local food.

Thai cuisine refers to food that most Thais are familiar with. Most restaurants sell out. Thais can eat anywhere in the world. Local food or traditional food means the food of the region. Each region has its own cuisine and recipes. My district is in the northern part of Thailand. Northern Thai food or Lana food is plentiful. My community has so many local restaurants. Also, some families still cook Lanna food.

Thus, people have a choice of what they want to eat and consume today.

Culture and traditions

Elders teach us from generation to generation that we must respect elders.

Most seniors in my community enjoy sharing their smiles with others. Thai New Year, which starts from April 13th to 16th, we will apologize for what we have acted inappropriately to elders. They will pour water on the hands of revered elders and ask for blessings. Moreover, it is the day of all family members. When we have huge events such as the district’s anniversary every year, the majority of the population will donate aids and participate in district activities. It shows that we care about society and people’s happiness.

Work

Working in my community is not very competitive.

People work with an easy and relaxed style, but they work at full capacity. The majority of the work concerns agriculture. People are still rising with their profits after the harvest. Additionally, many businesses, such as restaurants, offices, factories, or stores, are growing rapidly, increasing employment opportunities in our community. For government officials, the top priority of work in my district is development. They emphasize prosperity in all areas, and people’s happiness should be stable. However, too many cooks spoil the broth. Some people still have problems with works.

Hospital and treatment

When you think of healing, our district has a hospital, clinic, health post, and other health organizations that provide treatment for everyone. Our hospital has general medical equipment, and it can cure people. On the other hand, even our hospital sounds good, but there are some problems. The hospital is big enough, but the queue is long. Patients have to wait in line to get the treatment for a long time. Doctors are not enough for patients.

Police stations

There are two police stations in my district. The police take good care of the people, so the crime rate is low. Police officers keep the neighborhood safe and hinder crime. The police also manipulate traffic. In the morning and evening of returning home, the police will control the traffic at the crowded crossroads, especially at the crossroads in the downtown area of my neighborhood. In addition, the police have an educational role. DARE is one of the police projects. This project will teach children and adolescents to be aware of the dangers of drugs. They will teach students how to stay away from drugs.

Schools and education

In my campaign, there are three types of schools which are public schools, private schools, technical high schools and non-formal and informal education centers.

Public schools have low tuition fees so anyone regardless of status can study in these public schools. Additionally, Hill students have the right of access to education. For private schools, most parents are quite wealthy. They will send their children to school. However, private schools offer them scholarships. The technical college is one of many educational institutions. Students will complete work experience. Most of the knowledge relates to general electricity, engine studies, account studies, etc. When they turn 18, they can work and earn an income. The last is the non-formal education center. Are you so busy with your business? The center will give you time options to study. Most of the students will do the lessons on weekends because from Monday to Friday they have their own business or work.

The main objective of this learning is to emphasize that students understand society, business, income and knowledge. Students can work and learn together.

What is my favorite thing in my neighborhood?

What is my favorite thing in my neighborhood? In my opinion, the most remarkable thing about my neighborhood is the diversity of people.

It seems to be ordinary, but it is full of unspeakable words. I can’t explain it, but I can feel it. People live friendly in my neighborhood. The reason we are peaceful is that the culture of respect also teaches me to respect others, society in general and the peoples of the world. I want to say that it is essential to respect each other. May they be different, but they are people like us. It’s really great for me.
