If you do anything in life, you know how stressful it can be! So here are some ideas on what to do when you’re stressed… (trust me, I know that feeling!)
1. Color in a coloring book
Coloring is one of the most relaxing things to do. Even if you don’t have one of these adult coloring books, just go online and print out a coloring page! It’s so easy! Coloring soothes the mind. But if you’re like me and can’t get into the fine lines, don’t get frustrated, just do something else on this list!
2. Take pictures
Whether or not you have social media to put the picture on, just go out with a camera or your phone and snap some pics! Or take photos of your home and the things around you. It really puts things into perspective. Plus, you just captured a moment in time! If you have no ideas on what to photograph, look online! You can take pictures of your library, your food, or yourself.
3. Read a book or go to a library
Reading can take you places you’ve never been. Plus, going to the library is very relaxing! (Here’s a little secret; as I write this article, I’m in a library!) Libraries are great ways to interact, volunteer, and experience new things. Try it sometimes!
4. Talk to someone you like
Talking is always important. Especially when you’re stressed, it’s like you can’t stop talking! With someone you love and trust, talking is key to calming yourself down when you’re stressed. It can really keep your mind off of things!
5. Have a coffee!
Mmmmm…coffee! One of the best de-stressors out there. Do it with cream, sugar, whipped cream, anything! (Maybe even candy on top?) Or, if you don’t feel like making your own, go to a cafe! Cafes are also places to relax!
6. Do your makeup!
Ahh, you’re wearing makeup. Fun, right? It’s actually one of my coping skills! Bronzer, blush, lip balm, lipstick, mascara and all kinds of eye shadow! Wearing makeup is also a good way to relax. (Plus, it makes us feel pretty!)
7. Watch a Disney movie!
Watching movies is fun, right? Then you have your Disney movies. These are even better! Just grab that coffee you made or went to buy, grab a fluffy blanket and maybe a friend, and press play!
8. Look at pictures of cute animals!
Puppies, kittens, foxes, pandas, monkeys, etc. They are all adorable! Just search the Internet for cute animals, and the Internet will provide you with a wealth of cute animals! Just dive into your laptop or computer and laugh how cute they are!
9. Remember this…
You have so much to do in this world. Just make sure it makes you happy. Don’t force yourself to do something you don’t want or that doesn’t make you happy. Write, journal, publish, produce, etc. You can do it. Let me know in the comments below what you do when you’re stressed!
