5 signs that you are the “mom” of your group of friends

I am indeed the mom friend of my group of friends and there are some things that you don’t realize unless you are that friend. Here’s my list of mommy friend things.

1. Your bag is always stocked

I ended up being the only person carrying a backpack and it’s always full and stocked. All I really need is my phone, my keys and my wallet, but if anyone notices they’re sunburned, you can count on me to grab some sunscreen . Thirsty? I brought a bottle of water just for this moment. Need gum? I have a handy package here. Did you buy something but you have nowhere to put it? Throw it in the bag.

2. You have become a “worrier”

Worry follows me like a little cloud and it’s mostly something useless, but sometimes my worry can save the day. It goes from “did you put on sunscreen this morning?” to ‘no, you can’t eat Nutella, it contains nuts, you’re allergic to nuts, you’re going to die!’. Once you start realizing you sound like your own mother, you lower your voice, but someone decides to do something else stupid and you start over.

3. Sometimes you even refer to your friends as your “kids.”

You get funny looks in public when you start talking about your friends who are your age as children, but in the end they are your children because in your eyes they are small and need your care.

4. You are the designated sober friend

If and when you’re old enough to drink, you may find other drunken teenagers at a house party, but you’ll find me with my water bottle trying to stop someone from jumping out the window and crashing. prevent another from crying. But there are times when someone swears and falls down the stairs when you think it’s time to turn to the drink, it’s never because then someone managed to get stuck under a table and we have to go save him.

5. You are the one who is organized

Everyone knows you as the one who is organized and prepared and it might not seem like you, but because you are so busy organizing for others as well as yourself, you are the queen of lists and plans. .

At the end of the day, being the mommy friend is a very important job and it’s really nice to know that your friends trust you to help take care of them. Don’t let being the mommy friend stop you from taking care of yourself!

Thank you very much for reading! Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to make sure my friend brought a jacket because it’s cold today and he’s going to catch cold.
