How to Create Scalp Braids:

Step 1: Separate the part of hair you want to braid. The smaller the section, the smaller the braid will be. Then, tie the rest of the hair with a clip or a hair elastic, so that you don’t accidentally grab this hair and braid it.

Step 2: Take the section of hair you just parted and at the hairline, place an edge control over it and cut a small section horizontally.

Step 3: Take the small horizontal section and divide it into three sections of hair. Each part serves as the leg of your braid

Step 4: With your right hand, you should have your index, middle and thumb on one section and the other two sections of hair will be in your left hand.

Step 5. The outer strand will be held by the middle finger and the thumb.

Step 6: The middle strand will be held by the index finger and the thumb.

Step 7 Take the index finger of the right hand, place it behind the middle section of hair and over the left outer section of hair.

Step 8: With your right index finger on the left outer section of hair, grab that section and use your thumb to pick up some hair from behind as well.

Step 9: Holding the left outer strand between your right index finger and thumb, pull it under the middle strand.

Step 10: What was previously the middle strand should now be outside on the left and what was outside on the left should now be in the middle.

Step 11: You should hold two strands of hair in your right hand and 1 in your left.

Step 12: Now take the index finger of the left hand and place it under the middle and over the right outer strand.

Step 13: With your left index finger on the right outer section of hair, grab it and use your thumb to pick up the hair.

Step 14: Now pull the right outer section of hair below the middle.
