Since rocketing to social media fame a few years ago, Luv Anthony has navigated the ins and outs of the content creation world. In this exclusive interview, Anthony gives The Teen Magazine insight into his dreams, hopes and plans.

The rise to fame

To get to know Anthony, we first had to know: how did he first get into TikTok, the app that launched him into the fame he enjoys today?

“I got into TikTok around 2016; it was actually called Musical.ly back then,” Anthony replied, “I remember it was late 2017 when I first went viral – my video got about 500,000 views and then the notifications just kept coming in. I was so happy, excited and amazing!”

Alone

From there, Anthony’s popularity only grew, and so did the popularity of the platform.

As its platform grew, so did its business ventures. Anthony has been affiliated with the Sway House – made up of him and his entourage of fellow TikTokes – as well as connections with the Hype House, also a TikToker collective.

With that came the question: Would Anthony ever consider going solo? However, Anthony confirmed that his plans were to stay with his friends: “No. I’ll always be with the boys or my girlfriend!”

Influencing the fashion scene

Well known for his laid back, classic yet unique style, Anthony has added fuel to the latest Gen Z fashion scene. His latest collaboration with fashion company Moox showcases his personal tastes in a fun way.

A colorful and playful clothing line with a taste of the 70s aesthetic, Anthony’s developments really show his love for fashion. Reflecting on the process of creating his clothing line, Anthony said, “The process wasn’t bad at all. It was really awesome! Everyone was so nice and made it super easy for me. such a great team!”

According to Anthony, the process was “mostly sending designs back and forth, finding the best materials and, of course, doing the shots for Luvland!”

To look forward

Anthony has been involved in many exciting projects, but his plans don’t stop there. The TikTok star aims to navigate fashion further by getting more involved in modeling.

Anthony’s first modeling experience really reinforced his love for the field and defined his vision for the future. “I was with Hugo Boss and did a photoshoot with them for a collaboration with Russell Athletic,” Anthony said. “I met some of the best models out there, and it was fun!”

“I would really like to continue modeling,” Anthony told us, “Hopefully, runways, billboards, campaigns. I just want to be a supermodel!”

With his fashion sense and charming look, we are sure we will see him more in the modeling industry.

The 3 Fs: fame, fans and family

Obviously, with great success comes millions of opinions and curious minds. While navigating the world of being a top social media personality and influencer, a few things surprised the young star.

When asked if there were any aspects he didn’t expect with fame, Anthony shared that he didn’t expect people to show up at his house to look through his windows. “Like, not just kids – parents and entire families would!”

However, social media has allowed Anthony to branch out. Asked about his favorite part of going viral and doing what he does on social media, Anthony said: “Just being more comfortable expressing myself and being who I am – and of course meeting people from all over the world with the same interest!”

Stay Grounded and Humble

Not only has Anthony spread positivity and shared his passions via social media, but he’s admirably managed to stay down-to-earth and humble the entire time.

“Without my supporters, there is no way I am where I am today,” said Anthony. “They completely changed my life. I can’t thank them enough!”

1. What is your favorite childhood memory?

Every Sunday at Mamaw’s and Papaw’s, [my family] played football on their big field with all my cousins, my brothers and sometimes the neighbours’ children. We were always supposed to play 2 Hand Touch but we never did. So many crazy fights and tackles – it was always fun!

2. What would you say your spirit animal would be, and why?

A wolf. Intelligent, has good instincts and the freedom to move around as you see fit.

3. What does a typical day look like for you?

My typical day involves hanging out with some of the boys. Maybe save money or go out to eat. Could have a morning shoot too. Then, usually end the evening with a bit of gambling.

4. If you could have dinner with one famous person in history, who would it be and why?

Tyler the Creator. He’s my favorite artist and he has such a creative mind.

5. How about your aesthetic?

To be honest, I’m still trying to understand. I like so many random things and styles so I don’t know what that would be.

6. What are five of your biggest pet peeves, and why?

1. Make plans with someone, then [not answering] for the rest of the day. Who do this ?
2. People leave food and drinks in my room. It’s cool if I do, you don’t.
3. My puppy pees in the house right after I take him out! Like my mate, you were just OUTSIDE.
4. Other people make me late for things. They gave me some time to be there for a reason.
5. People were spanking while eating. Just chew with your mouth closed, you’re so loud.

7. What is your favorite dessert?

My favorite dessert definitely has to be ice cream. I could eat an entire jar.

8. If you could champion one cause, what would it be?

If I could defend a cause, [it’d be for] End domestic violence and ensure all women have access to safe abortions.

9. How did you meet your girlfriend Avani?

We met- [around] 4-5 years ago – only from social media; Musical.ly, I believe. We had small DM chats but finally met her in person in LA! Have been together since, basically!

10. Do you have big vacation plans this summer?

Go to Destin, Florida – super excited about it! All my trips are generally [in the] last second, so hopefully I’ll get more too!
