If you’re like me, you’re always looking for something new in general. Every summer, I always do the same things every year, and I’m constantly looking for new things to do. I love summer. However, this year it might be different due to Covid-19. Some places may require you to wear a mask. Keep this in mind as you may want to call the company ahead to see what the restrictions will be. Of course, everyone is going on vacation and looking for things to do. If you’re like me and want to do something new and different this summer, then this article is definitely a must-read for you!
1. Road Trip with your favorite people
Get together with your friends and start planning a road trip together! You could go wherever you want. Ask your friends what they want to see, and everyone can compromise on where you all go. You can even go to each location and make the trip for a week or even longer. You can also start saving money now. It will be complicated to plan and organize, but I can promise you that it will be totally worth it! Click on the links to see some of my favorite places to go on a road trip! 2.Go to Savings
If you’ve never been to a thrift store, you have to go this summer! One of the best things about thrift stores is that you never know what you’re going to find. Ask your friends or family if they want to go with you! Second-hand shopping is always better with other people. While you’re saving, you can also go to a restaurant you’ve never tried before to mix things up a bit. Don’t be afraid to try new things! Click here to see the Fifty-Two 80’s vintage thrift store! 3. Have a bonfire
If you and your friends have never had a bonfire, you absolutely must have one! My friends and I have bonfires together all the time. We talk about everything and nothing, we listen to music, we play games, etc. We could even toast marshmallows and make s’mores! It’s a good excuse to get together with all your friends to catch up on lost time. You can even go for a swim or do something that day and then once it gets dark outside you can go have a bonfire. Summer is all about memories, so get your firewood ready!
4. Go to a state fair
Personally, I’ve been to a state fair before. Believe me, it’s definitely worth the trip. When it was time for us to leave, I didn’t want to go. It was so much fun. You and your friends could all pile into a vehicle and head to a state fair. If you want to make it even more fun, you can stay near the State Fair in a hotel and spend the next day visiting all sorts of places. State fairs are packed with rides, carnival game booths and food trucks. If you’re anything like me, you’d drive a certain number of hours just to get the funnel cake from the fair. 5.Make an escape room
If you’ve never made an escape room before, you absolutely must make one! An escape room is a room you pay for and are locked inside. You will have 1 hour to find clues to unlock the locks and find the key to escape the room and get out. In addition, each room has a different theme. I’ve done so many escape rooms. I love them so much! They are also a great experience and memory maker with other people. 6.Take a trip to the zoo
If you like animals like me, you must visit the zoo this summer with your friends. If you want to make it even more fun, you can always go to a zoo that you and your friends have never visited before. A trip to the zoo with friends is a day full of happiness and memories. The best zoo I’ve been to is the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. It was one of the greatest experiences! Click here to see the Cincinnati Zoo!
7. Go to a drive-in movie
I’ve always dreamed of going to see a drive-in! If you don’t know what a drive-in movie is, it’s basically a movie, but you’re going to pull up in your car to watch it. You also turn on your radio to a certain station to listen to the movie. I’ve only ever seen drive-in movies about things like Grease on TV. It would be super awesome to go make one. You and your friends or family could take a road trip to see one! This idea is perfect considering our current climate; this idea is compatible with COVID. 8.Go to a concert
If you and your friends are all music lovers like me, then a concert this summer is a must. However, sometimes you and your friends don’t like the same kind of music. Don’t worry, though! You and your friends could go to a summer playlist concert with a bunch of singers! However, some places may require you to wear a mask due to Covid. Before attending, check online to see what is required. Some places may require a vaccination or a negative COVID test. Click here to see the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival! 9. Go hiking and/or camping
If you prefer the outdoors, you absolutely must go camping and/or hiking this summer! You and your friends could buy a tent and go to the mountains and camp for a weekend. That would be super fun! If you live where there are no places to camp, you could take a road trip! Click here to see the best places to camp and/or hike!
10. Make tie-dye
If you’re more into arts and crafts, tie-dyeing is a must for you this summer! You might find old t-shirts, or you could even go to the dollar store and buy white t-shirts, socks, etc. If you can’t dye, don’t worry! Click here to see how to tie-dye! Not only will you have a great time, but you’ll also have super cute tie-dye clothes! Click here to see the products!
This summer can be awesome; however, you need to make it fun. Due to COVID restrictions, you will need to find alternative plans to enjoy your free time. Hope the list above helps you prepare for an unforgettable summer.
